A plot of about 3,500 sq. m in the Hrazdan Gorge will be improved according to the project of the architectural bureau Storaket Architectural Studio. For these purposes, the government allocated 172 million drams, and the start of construction work is scheduled for the coming days, Tigran Avinyan said following the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The territory is located in the Arabkir district, approximately 5.5 km from the beginning of the Hrazdan Gorge in Yerevan. The project involves the creation of an improved public space, which will become part of a broader program for the development of natural areas of the city.
According to Avinyan, after the necessary legislative changes are made by the Ministry of Environment, it is planned to give the entire Hrazdan Gorge the status of a specially protected public area. This will strengthen the protection of the natural landscape and systematically develop the infrastructure of recreation and walking areas.
