Armenian Investors Club (AICA) has announced the completion of an investment deal with the startup DeepSat. A separate SPV was formed to finance the project, and the entire cycle—from the initial presentation to the transfer of funds—took about a month, which underscores the acceleration of venture processes in the region.
DeepSat is developing a real-time Earth data processing system using satellites in very low Earth orbit (VLEO). The key idea of the project is to launch artificial intelligence directly on orbital vehicles to analyze information without transmission delays to Earth. The solution is focused on defense, infrastructure monitoring, and climate analytics tasks.
The founders of the startup, Nerses Ohanyan and Hayk Martirosyan, have also joined the AICA investor community, strengthening the link between developers and the venture ecosystem. The deal is seen as an example of how local investment clubs are starting to more quickly support technology projects with a space and AI focus.
