The International Monetary Fund has improved its forecast for the Armenian economy: in 2026, the country's GDP will grow by 5.3% instead of the previously expected 4.9%. The updated data is published in the April World Economic Outlook report and reflects more confident expectations for economic dynamics.
At the same time, inflationary risks have also been revised upwards. In 2026, the average annual inflation will be 3.6% against the previous 2.8%, and in 2027 - 3.4%. At the same time, the forecast for the external balance worsened: the current account deficit in 2026 is expected to be at the level of 6% of GDP.
In general, the IMF's estimates are close to the official guidelines: the Armenian budget includes growth at the level of 5.4%, and the Central Bank of Armenia allows a wider range - from 4.7% to 7.1%, depending on the scenario.
