Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the supply of petroleum products from Azerbaijan has become the final blow to the monopoly in the country's fuel market. According to him, the process of dismantling the dominance of individual players lasted about eight years and is now complete. The authorities believe that the opening of railway communication played a key role, allowing the establishment of alternative supply channels.

As Pashinyan noted, thanks to the new logistics routes, Armenian consumers have already saved tens of billions. He emphasized that the government is fighting against internal shadow structures that controlled the market. The import of fuel from Azerbaijan, in his opinion, completely destroyed the old system and increased competition.

The first deliveries began in December 2025: then a train with more than 1200 tons of A95 gasoline arrived in the country. In January, an additional 7600 tons of fuel were already on their way. These deliveries became possible after the agreements reached on August 8 in Washington, as well as the memorandums signed between Armenia and the United States, which opened the way for a new format of cooperation and transit.
