A new fraudulent scheme is being recorded in Armenia: Artsakh residents have come under attack

Scammers hide behind charity and well-known names, luring out money and personal data

Armenia is warning about a rise in fraud cases targeting Artsakh residents. This was reported by cybersecurity expert Samvel Martirosyan. According to him, the perpetrators exploit the theme of "help" and disguise themselves as well-known bloggers or public figures.

The scheme is built around the promise of substantial financial support allegedly available "here and now." At the same time, artificial time pressure is created — potential victims are told about the "last day" or an urgent need to act in order to push them into making a quick decision.

The scammers then demand a small "contribution" to receive the promised assistance and simultaneously collect personal data. The expert emphasizes that the key sign of deception is requests to pay for supposedly charitable aid and an imposed sense of urgency. He recommends ignoring such messages and not transferring money to unknown senders.
