Ucom Launches Climate Program: The Company Will Begin Calculating and Reducing CO₂ Emissions

The operator is moving to carbon management in line with international standards

Telecom company Ucom announced the launch of a carbon footprint management program. The initial stage will be a comprehensive assessment of the emissions of the head office in accordance with the international GHG Protocol standard.

The company emphasizes that environmental sustainability is becoming part of its long-term development strategy. Based on the results of the analysis, it plans to prepare a roadmap with short- and medium-term measures to reduce emissions.

The assessment will cover the main sources of impact: energy consumption, transport, waste, and procurement activities. The project is being implemented jointly with the NGO "Arevordi". Ucom notes that amid Armenia's preparations for COP17, the business sector should take a more active role in the country's environmental transformation.
