A regular flight has started operating between Yerevan and Aktau, opening new opportunities for travel and business trips between Armenia and Kazakhstan. The carrier SCAT Airlines launched the Aktau–Yerevan–Aktau route, strengthening connectivity between the countries of the region and developing its international route network.
Flights have been operated since April 18, twice a week – on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The airline notes that the launch of the route is part of a strategy to expand its flight geography and strengthen its presence in international destinations.
The new flight is expected to simplify transport links between the two cities, as well as stimulate tourism and business activity. Aktau, as a Caspian hub, and Yerevan, as a major regional center, gain a direct air connection, which was previously limited to connecting routes.
