Firebird AI to Invest 170 Billion Drams in Supercomputer Center in Armenia

Project with NVIDIA and Dell to Create Region's Largest AI Infrastructure

Armenia is preparing for a major technological leap: Firebird AI is investing approximately 170 billion drams in the construction of a supercomputer center and a data center focused on artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.

The project is being implemented in the Kotayk region and has already received government support, including an exemption from import customs duties. The main part of the funds – almost 140 billion drams – will be allocated for equipment procurement, about 5.7 billion drams for construction, and another 24.5 billion for raw materials and related needs. The project plans to develop cloud infrastructure, server capacities, and data processing services, as well as create 40 jobs by 2030.

The initiative is being developed jointly with NVIDIA and Dell, as well as with the participation of local partners. The first stage involves the creation of an AI data center with a capacity of over 100 MW, installing thousands of Blackwell GPUs. Investments at this stage are estimated at approximately $500 million, with launch planned for 2026. The second stage involves expansion to 41 thousand GPUs and a total budget of up to $4 billion, with a focus on the development of AI, biosciences, robotics, and space technologies.
