Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the launch of an ecopatrol in the Tavush region. According to him, the creation of such units in the regions will be an important step in forming an ecological culture and improving nature protection throughout the country. The service will operate on a permanent basis.

The new unit employs 128 specially trained staff. They are equipped with modern equipment, including video surveillance systems, digital tools, and service vehicles, some of which have fire-fighting equipment for forest protection.

Authorities note that after the launch of a similar service in Syunik, the number of detected violations increased by 2.5 times, and response time decreased by more than 40%. The new structure is designed to strengthen control over compliance with environmental legislation, prevent illegal activities, and ensure the protection of Armenia's natural resources.
