The Armenian government has submitted for public discussion a draft of changes to the structure of the cabinet of ministers, which provides for strengthening the role of artificial intelligence at the state level. As part of the initiative, it is proposed to update the name and functions of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry.
According to the document, the agency may receive a new name – the Ministry of High-Tech Industry and Artificial Intelligence. Its tasks are planned to include the development and implementation of state policy in the field of AI, as well as the development of cloud computing services.
The initiative was developed by the ministry itself and reflects the course towards a more active introduction of digital technologies into public administration and the country's economy. The decision is still under discussion and has not yet been finalized.
