Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the opening of the Akhalkalaki–Kars railway route for freight transportation from Armenia.

According to him, this event is of great importance for the country's economy and is the result of cooperation with partners from Turkey and Georgia.

He noted that Armenia previously had logistical connections with Russia via Georgia and Azerbaijan, and further with China via Russia and Kazakhstan. Now, he said, an additional freight route to the European Union is opening via Georgia and Turkey.

Thus, the new route is seen as an expansion of the region's transport connectivity and a potential strengthening of Armenia's transit capabilities within the international logistics system.
