The depths of Armenia may conceal resources for which a global struggle is already underway. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that the republic, together with the USA, will create a new geological map of the country to find strategically important minerals and rare earth metals. This refers to raw materials that were considered useless a few decades ago but have now become critically important for high technologies.

According to Pashinyan, American and Armenian specialists will explore the subsoil using modern methods of analysis and geological exploration. Of particular interest are materials necessary for the production of microchips, batteries, satellites, electronics, as well as artificial intelligence systems and the defense industry. Amidst the rapid development of AI and the technology race, the demand for such resources worldwide has sharply increased.

Recall that on May 26, Armenia and the USA signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of critical minerals and rare earth metals. The document provides for joint research, attracting investments, developing raw material processing, and forming new supply chains. In fact, this is an attempt to turn Armenia into one of the potential suppliers of resources for the future technology industry.
