Armenia is building a $4 billion AI giant: over 100,000 Nvidia GPUs will be here by 2027

The region's largest AI center is preparing for launch and could make the country a world leader in computing power

Preparations are underway in Hrazdan for the launch of one of the region's most ambitious technological projects — the Firebird AI data center.

Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan and Firebird AI co-founder Alexander Yesayan visited the construction site to assess the infrastructure's readiness and the progress of final works before the official launch of the facility.

In the first phase, $500 million will be invested in the project, and after the second phase is implemented, the total investment volume will reach approximately $4 billion. The new data center will be located on an area of 200,000 sq. m and will become the largest facility of its kind in the region.

Once operational, the center will be equipped with more than 6,000 Nvidia Blackwell graphics processors. Project developers expect that by the end of 2027, the number of Nvidia Blackwell and Vera Rubin accelerators will exceed 100,000 units. If these plans are realized, Armenia could become one of the top five countries in the world in terms of computing resources dedicated to artificial intelligence tasks.
