Armenia believes that the restoration of railway infrastructure towards Turkey should be evaluated from the perspective of transit potential, security issues, and the overall economic effect for the country. This was stated by Armenian Deputy Minister of Finance Avag Avanesyan.

Commenting on the differences in approaches to the possible participation of external partners in the project, he noted that the negotiation process is ongoing, and final decisions are formed based on subsequent financial and economic calculations.

According to the Deputy Minister, at the initial stage, any party can express interest in participation, but detailed assessments of the effectiveness and feasibility of infrastructure projects play a key role thereafter.

He emphasized that for the state, not only direct income is important, but also a broader effect from infrastructure development. This refers to transit flows, increased economic activity, and strengthening the overall resilience of the economy.

It is also noted that the possible unblocking of international communications is considered a factor that can significantly increase Armenia's economic potential.
