The UAE national oil company Emarat has opened its first branded gas station in Yerevan. This marks the company's first step into the Armenian market and is part of its international expansion strategy beyond the United Arab Emirates.

The project was implemented in partnership with Mega Trade, a company within the SIL Capital investment portfolio.

Emarat stated that the launch of the first gas station will be the starting point for establishing a network of filling stations across the country. In the initial phase, the company plans to build approximately 35 facilities in various regions of Armenia, with total investments estimated at $35–40 million.

Emarat notes its intention to introduce its own standards of fuel quality, service, and customer experience to the Armenian market.

Previously, international brands Shell and Gulf had already begun operating gas stations in Armenia.
