The Cyber Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia warned residents of the country about a new scam scheme that is spreading through the iMessage service. Users receive fake messages allegedly on behalf of the Traffic Police, but the real purpose of such mailings is not to inform, but to steal money.

The department stated that attackers continue to massively send fake notifications, using the name of a state body to increase trust. Such messages may contain links or requests to perform certain actions that allow scammers to gain access to financial information.

The Cyber Police urged citizens not to respond to such messages, not to follow suspicious links, and to immediately block the phone numbers or email addresses of the senders. Users are also advised to exercise caution when receiving any unexpected notifications from allegedly official organizations.
