Armenia has changed the procedure for obtaining prestigious car license plates. Instead of auctions, individuals and legal entities can now acquire the right to primary use of "golden" license plates at a pre-established cost.

The price will depend on the combination of numbers and letters in the registration plate and will range from 250,000 to 8 million drams – approximately from $680 to $20,000. This approach is expected to make the procedure for obtaining rare combinations more transparent and predictable for car owners.

In addition, the authorities have expanded the list of prestigious license plates. Combinations with zeros, repeating digits, and various options for combinations with Latin letters have been added to it. Examples of such license plates include 77 OO 777, 505 OO 05, and 00 OO 000, which are traditionally considered the most attractive for car owners.
