"Electric Networks of Armenia" is carrying out major repairs, reconstruction, and technical re-equipment of 27 distribution substations as part of its 2026 investment program. Work is underway in the Kotayk and Gegharkunik regions, as well as in several administrative districts of Yerevan. The company expects that the modernization will significantly improve the quality of electricity supply for consumers.

Special attention is paid to the "Gyumri-1" 110/35/6 kV and "Spitak" 110/35/10 kV substations. The first provides electricity to about 20 thousand subscribers in the Shirak region, and the second to about 14 thousand subscribers in the Lori region. Both stations are being modernized for the first time since their construction in the 1930s. A significant part of the equipment has already exhausted its service life and complicates emergency recovery work.

A separate project is related to Armenia's preparation for the COP17 Biodiversity Conference, which will be held on October 19-30. ESA is completing the construction of a new modular high-voltage substation "Noragyugh" 35/6 kV, and five more low-voltage substations are being created nearby. The total budget for this project is about 2 billion drams.
