The possible participation of the international logistics company DP World in the creation of a "Dry Port" in Gyumri was discussed by Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan and the company's Chairman of the Board of Directors, Essa Kazim, at a meeting in Dubai. The parties also reviewed the development of modern warehousing and multimodal infrastructure and the prospects for long-term cooperation.

The Armenian government previously announced plans to invest about $37 million in the project. The "Dry Port" is intended to be directly connected to Shirak International Airport, the railway network, and the "North-South" transport corridor. The complex is planned to include the airport with free economic zone status, distribution centers, small and medium-sized businesses, light industry facilities, and production infrastructure.

The authorities expect the project to help transform the Shirak region into a major industrial and logistics hub. The multimodal hub should serve regional and international companies, ensuring cargo consolidation and customs processes. The participation of DP World, which deals with ports, transportation, warehousing, and logistics, could strengthen the international component of the project.
