Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khoudatyan met with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi. The negotiations took place within the framework of the 70th session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency. One of the main topics was the further development of the country's nuclear energy.

The parties discussed the process of extending the operational life of the second unit of the Armenian NPP. This refers to the existing power unit, which remains a key element of the country's energy system, as well as the measures necessary to continue its safe operation.

Particular attention at the meeting was paid to the selection of a new nuclear power plant model for Armenia. In addition, Khoudatyan reiterated his invitation to Grossi to visit the country and participate in events planned within the framework of COP21.
