Russia is awaiting Armenia's reaction to the proposal to restore two sections of railways that are under RZD concession and are connected to routes to Azerbaijan and Turkey. This was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk. According to him, Moscow is ready to participate in the restoration of infrastructure and help Armenia ensure transport links from Yeraskh to Nakhchivan and from Gyumri to the Turkish border.
Overchuk noted that relevant decisions at the level of the Russian President were made back in January. The Russian side, according to him, expects Yerevan to determine its position on this issue. The Deputy Prime Minister added that meetings are expected in the near future, which may contribute to the further advancement of the initiative.

Moscow emphasizes that it traditionally supports projects aimed at developing transport connectivity in the South Caucasus and unblocking regional communications. The restoration of these railway sections is considered by the Russian side in the context of expanding Armenia's transport links with neighboring countries.
