In the first nine months of 2026, 18,221 electric vehicles were imported to Armenia. As of October 3, the duty-free import quota for 20,000 vehicles had already been utilized by 91%, as reported by the country's Ministry of Economy.

The majority of vehicles were imported by individuals – they brought in 15,661 electric vehicles. Another 2,560 vehicles were imported by official dealers. Thus, private buyers account for the overwhelming portion of the utilized quota.

Before the limit is fully exhausted, individuals still have the opportunity to import another 839 electric vehicles duty-free, and dealers – 940. If current import rates continue, the quota could be used up in the near future.
