Mesrop Mesropyan, Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia, held a meeting with representatives of the Firebird AI artificial intelligence data center and CJSC "Electric Power System Operator". The main topic was the connection of the computing complex to the power system, including issues of allocating the necessary capacities and the possible impact of its operation on power supply.
The participants of the negotiations presented their comments and proposals and identified areas for further discussion. The supercomputer center and AI data center project was presented in June 2025 by the Government of Armenia, NVIDIA, Firebird, and Team Group. The facility's infrastructure is designed for more than 100 MW, with Firebird as the owner and Dell as the project partner. NVIDIA supplies high-performance Blackwell GPUs for the center.

In the first stage, it is planned to invest $500 million in the project. After the implementation of the second stage, the total investment could reach about $5 billion, and the fleet of additional NVIDIA Blackwell accelerators could reach approximately 42 thousand. The center should be used for the development of AI, bioscience, robotics, and space technologies. The project is being implemented with the support of the governments of Armenia and the USA.
