The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia has proposed implementing artificial intelligence tools for crime analysis. The corresponding legislative initiative has been put up for public discussion and provides for the creation of a legal framework for a new model of the Center for Crime Statistics and Research.

A key element of the project will be a unified electronic system that combines data from various government agencies. It should ensure prompt information transfer, compatibility of data from different sources, and their comprehensive processing. In addition to maintaining records and generating statistics, the system will allow for deeper criminological analysis using AI technologies.

The initiative also provides for clarifying the list of recorded information on crimes, administrative offenses, and wanted persons, as well as defining the government agencies involved in centralized data collection.

In addition, the Ministry of Internal Affairs plans to create an open crime statistics platform. It should make relevant information more accessible to citizens and increase the transparency and accountability of law enforcement agencies.
