Picsart, founded by Armenian natives, has entered the top 10 global ranking of mobile applications that actively use generative artificial intelligence. The results are presented in the seventh Top 100 Gen AI Consumer Apps study, published by venture fund Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) on October 5, 2026.

In the mobile ranking of 50 positions, applications are ranked by the number of monthly active users. Sensor Tower data for August 2026 was used for calculations. Both services originally created based on AI and existing platforms where generative functions have become an important part of the user experience are taken into account. Picsart is also present in a separate ranking of 50 web products, formed according to Similarweb data.

According to a16z observations, only 11 products appeared for the first time in the new release of the ranking – this is the minimum indicator for seven releases of the study. At the same time, the positions of universal AI assistants and specialized content creation tools are strengthening.

Picsart was founded in 2011 by Hovhannes Avoyan, Artavazd Mehrabyan, and Mikael Vardanyan. The platform offers tools for photo and video processing, graphic design, and content generation. In 2021, after raising $130 million in investments, the company was valued at over $1 billion and became the first Armenian technology "unicorn".
