Armenia and EBRD increase focus on infrastructure and "green" economy

New projects for road modernization, water systems, and environmental initiatives discussed in Yerevan

Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan met with a delegation from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, led by Elisabetta Falcetti. The main topics of discussion were the development of the country's infrastructure and the transition to a "green" economy as a key direction for long-term reforms.

The parties noted the importance of ongoing EBRD projects in Armenia and discussed further expansion of cooperation. Special attention was paid to modernizing the road network, improving water supply systems, and increasing the efficiency of utility infrastructure management.

A separate block of negotiations was dedicated to the environmental agenda – the transition to sustainable development models, solid waste processing, and reducing the burden on the environment. The Armenian authorities and the EBRD reaffirmed their readiness to continue joint work on projects aimed at developing a competitive economy and improving the quality of life.
