Armenia is preparing a giant energy storage system for the Firebird AI project

The country wants to become a regional AI and technology hub with the support of the European Union

Within the framework of the Firebird AI project in Armenia, it is planned to create a battery-based energy storage system with a capacity of up to 1 GW. The project will become part of a broader program for the development of the country's digital and energy infrastructure.

A corresponding declaration on strategic cooperation was signed in Yerevan between the European Commission and Firebird AI company on the sidelines of the Armenia-EU summit. The document provides for joint work on strengthening Armenia's technological potential and developing infrastructure for artificial intelligence projects.

The European Commission also stated that it is considering the possibility of financial support for the initiative through its own investment mechanisms. The Armenian authorities expect that the project will help the country strengthen its position as a regional hub for AI, data centers and high-tech energy.
