The discussion of economic relations between Armenia and Russia has once again raised the issue of trade balance and the distribution of benefits within the EAEU. According to the data for 2025, the indicators show a persistent deficit for the Armenian side.

Armenia's exports to Russia amounted to $2.96 billion, while imports from Russia reached $4.87 billion. As a result, Armenia's trade deficit in bilateral trade amounted to $1.91 billion.

Overall, within the EAEU, Armenia's exports are estimated at $3.22 billion, and imports at $5.02 billion, forming a negative balance of $1.8 billion. These figures reflect a broader trade imbalance within the integration association.

Separately, the distribution of funds from the EAEU's common customs fund is noted: Armenia receives 1.22% of the revenues. Last year, according to the data provided, the country transferred about $327 million and received $181 million, which forms a net deficit of about $146 million.

Against the backdrop of these indicators, the discussion about the nature of economic interaction within the union and the interpretation of mutual benefit continues. In the public sphere, different assessments of the role of member countries, as well as questions of the balance of interests within trade and political agreements in the region, regularly clash.
