In Armenia, it is believed that the restoration of railway infrastructure in the direction of Turkey should be assessed from the perspective of transit potential, security issues, and the overall economic effect for the country. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Finance of Armenia, Avag Avanesyan.

Commenting on the differences in approaches to the possible participation of external partners in the project, he noted that the negotiation process is ongoing, and final decisions are formed based on subsequent financial and economic calculations.

According to the Deputy Minister, at the initial stage, any party can express interest in participation, but further on, detailed assessments of the effectiveness and feasibility of implementing infrastructure projects play a key role.

He emphasized that for the state, not only direct income is important, but also a broader effect from infrastructure development. This refers to transit flows, increased economic activity, and strengthening the overall resilience of the economy.

It is also noted that the possible unblocking of international communications is considered a factor that can significantly increase the economic potential of Armenia.
