Armenian Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan stated that the potential growth rate of the country's economy has increased from the previous 4-4.5% to 5-5.5%. According to him, this became possible due to large investments in economic infrastructure, modernization of the private sector, and human capital development.
Hovhannisyan noted that the economy's productivity continues to grow, and the effect of the investments made will be evident in the coming years. At the same time, the government's new five-year program envisages an average annual economic growth of 6% instead of the previous 7%.

The Minister considers such an indicator quite ambitious, given the already achieved level of the economy. In 2021-2026, Armenia's average economic growth was 7.9% with a target of 7%. Now, according to Hovhannisyan, the country is moving towards more realistic planning, but even a 6% growth will mean a significant increase in the economy in nominal terms.
