Armenia and Latvia expand partnership in technology

Countries discuss cybersecurity, digital literacy, and joint R&D projects

Armenia and Latvia have agreed to deepen cooperation in key areas of the technology sector, as reported by the Ministry of High-Tech Industry following a meeting between Deputy Minister Ruben Simonyan and Latvian Ambassador Edite Medne. The discussions covered a wide range of topics that define the development of the digital economy and innovation in both countries.

The parties paid special attention to the exchange of experience in digital literacy, support for professional retraining programs, cybersecurity issues, and the integration of European standards. The interlocutors discussed the potential for implementing joint projects, emphasizing the importance of developing research initiatives and expanding R&D cooperation.

Ruben Simonyan spoke about the steps to strengthen the startup ecosystem, involve new teams, raise public awareness in the field of cybersecurity, and improve industry infrastructure. Edite Medne noted that the potential for cooperation between the two countries is significant and expressed Latvia's readiness to support bilateral initiatives aimed at developing technological partnership.
