US helping Armenia strengthen its digital shield

The government is focusing on protecting state systems and the online environment

Armenian Deputy Minister of Justice Oksanna Abrahamyan met with representatives of the US Bureau of Cyberspace and Digital Policy, as well as MITRE and CRDF organizations, which are implementing cybersecurity programs with the support of Washington. The parties discussed how to strengthen Armenia's institutional capacity in this area and what steps are needed to more reliably protect state information systems.

A separate block of negotiations was devoted to the digitalization of justice and the introduction of new solutions to reduce the vulnerability of infrastructure to hacker attacks and data leaks. Abrahamyan stressed that strengthening cybersecurity and protecting the digital environment remain among the government's key priorities, and the consistent modernization of systems is not only a matter of efficiency, but also of national security.

The American side, in turn, confirmed its readiness to continue supporting Yerevan — from expert assistance and training of specialists to joint projects and programs for the development of cyber potential. It is expected that this format of cooperation will accelerate the development of the national cyber defense system and increase the resilience of public services to external digital threats.
