Yandex Go Introduces a Virtual Queue: Now You Can See How Many People Are Waiting for a Car

The feature helps users of the "Start/Economy" fare make decisions during peak demand hours

Yandex Go has introduced a new virtual queue feature for the "Start/Economy" fare. During periods of increased demand, such as after concerts, sports matches, or in bad weather, users will be able to see how many people are already waiting for a car. This will make it possible to assess the situation and decide whether it is worth waiting for a vehicle or using alternative transport.

The system forms the queue automatically: rides are carried out in the order requests are received — those who ordered a ride earlier will leave first. Users can track their place in the queue in real time and watch it move forward. If necessary, they can switch fares or use public transport.

According to Yandex Go, the virtual queue will help reduce excessive demand for the "Start/Economy" fare. Some users will choose other ways of getting around, which will increase the number of available drivers and may lead to lower ride prices. The feature was implemented jointly with the Commission for the Protection of Competition and Consumer Interests of the Republic of Armenia.
