From April 1, the procedure for paying pensions and social benefits in Armenia will completely change - funds will be transferred exclusively in non-cash form. The corresponding decision was made by the government on February 19, which means a rejection of the previous practice of cash payments.
Previously, cash could be received by citizens with functional limitations, as well as people over 75 years old. Now this exception has been canceled, and all recipients will switch to bank transfers or other non-cash instruments.
The authorities expect that the innovation will increase the transparency of payments and simplify the administration of the social support system. At the same time, citizens will have to take care in advance of opening accounts and choosing a convenient way to receive funds.
