By the end of 2025, the ratio of tax revenues to GDP in Armenia reached 24.08%, an increase of 0.7 percentage points compared to the previous year. This was announced by the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, Eduard Hakobyan. According to him, the growth of the indicator was largely ensured by strengthening tax control and reducing the volume of the shadow economy.
The head of the SRC also noted an increase in the efficiency of the tax service. The tax administration coefficient in 2025 was 1.02%, which is 0.22 percentage points lower than the previous year's level. This means that for every 100 drams of taxes collected, the state spent only 1.02 drams, whereas a year earlier this figure was higher.
Tax revenues and state duties of the budget for the year reached 2.725 trillion drams, an increase of approximately 334 billion drams, or 14%.
Earlier, Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan stated that the authorities expect to bring the tax-to-GDP ratio to 25%, and the current result has already approached this goal.
