The TRIPP project, which is being implemented in Armenia, does not pose a threat to traditional transport routes through Georgia and in the future may complement the Middle Corridor, said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze. According to him, the rapid growth of cargo turnover makes the diversification of transport routes an objective necessity.

Kobakhidze noted that since 2020, the volume of cargo transportation along the Middle Corridor has increased sevenfold. Therefore, Tbilisi, according to him, does not expect serious problems for existing routes due to the emergence of TRIPP or other alternative directions. Georgia simultaneously continues to develop its own transport infrastructure, including the Anaklia port, the possible expansion of Poti, aviation facilities, high-speed highways, and railways.

TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) provides for the creation of multimodal transit infrastructure through Armenia. The project should improve the transport connectivity of the South Caucasus and expand transportation opportunities between Central Asia, the Caspian region, and international markets. At the same time, the TRIPP infrastructure in Armenia will be under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the republic.
