In addition, the leadership of the Armenian Air Force expressed interest in Russian-Indian air-to-surface missiles BrahMos.

We are considering the possibility of modernizing our Su-30 fighters with the help of HAL, as this company has extensive experience.
Hovhannes Vardanyan, Commander of the Armenian Air Force

An Indian source stated that negotiations for the purchase of the Su-30MKI are in the early stages. It is assumed that Armenia may purchase 8-12 fighters from India, which will change "the fragile balance" of relations between Yerevan and Moscow.

Armenia's transition to this version of the aircraft can be interpreted as a departure from Russian influence in the field of defense technologies.
