Armenia's mining industry has taken the lead in labor productivity, surpassing the information technology sector. This was stated by Suren Parsyan, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, at the Mining Armenia Forum 2026 in Yerevan.

According to his assessment, the output per employee in the mining industry is about 50 million drams. The economist noted that this indicator demonstrates the sector's significant contribution to value creation in the republic's economy.

Parsyan also reported that the mining industry accounts for approximately one-third of Armenia's total exports. Thus, the industry plays a significant role not only in generating economic returns per employee but also in ensuring the country's export revenues.
