At a government meeting on January 8, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the need for the active introduction of artificial intelligence in all sectors. According to him, AI is becoming a key factor in economic development, and there is no need to wait for a “wave of technology” - it is necessary to prepare in advance and enshrine strategic initiatives in official documents.
Pashinyan noted that preparatory work is already underway and requires a systematic approach. An important aspect, he said, is the competent use of the potential of renewable energy, since the growth in the use of AI leads to an increase in electricity consumption.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the integration of AI should go hand in hand with the development of energy infrastructure. Armenia has significant resources in the field of renewable energy, and their effective use will become one of the key elements of the technological progress strategy.
