Armenia has secured the 37th position out of 101 countries in the World Bank's new Business Ready (B-READY) ranking. The country scored 66.7 points, demonstrating a strong performance in the updated business environment assessment system.
Georgia emerged as the regional leader: with a score of 75.1 points, it entered the world's top four economies in terms of business conditions. The new B-READY ranking replaces the Doing Business index, whose reputation was severely damaged in 2021 after the discovery of data manipulation in favor of certain states. Unlike its predecessor, the new index focuses not only on formal norms but also on the effectiveness of institutions, regulation, and the actual application of rules.
The published ranking does not include Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Belarus, and Iran. The World Bank did not include these countries in the current version of the study, without disclosing detailed reasons for their exclusion.
