Washington and Yerevan are moving from agreements to the practical implementation of a project that should create new transport links through the territory of Armenia.

US President's Special Envoy for Peacekeeping Missions, Steve Whitkoff, stated that the outcome of the Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiation process was the concept of "Trump's Route for International Peace and Prosperity" – TRIPP. According to him, the US, together with Armenia and Azerbaijan, has been working on the practical aspects of the future project for the past year.

The work included railway engineering surveys, coordination between government agencies and the private sector, as well as the creation of mechanisms for attracting investments. TRIPP involves a partnership between the US and Armenia to form unhindered multimodal routes through the republic's territory.

At the same time, as Whitkoff emphasized, the project must be implemented with full preservation of Armenia's territorial integrity and sovereignty. Thus, it is not just about transport infrastructure, but also about creating mechanisms for international economic cooperation.

The American special envoy also expects further expansion of the concept. According to him, in the future, TRIPP could be extended across the Caspian Sea, and the initiative itself could develop in the Middle East.
