The share of solar energy in Armenia's energy balance has grown to approximately 16%, which almost corresponds to nuclear generation figures. The growth of solar capacities has made it possible to compensate for the decrease in output at the nuclear power plant and maintain positive dynamics in electricity production.

According to the results of the first half of 2026, the total electricity generation in Armenia increased by approximately 10% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, nuclear energy showed a decrease in production volumes, but the growth of solar generation and other sources ensured an overall increase.

The increasing role of solar power plants has become one of the key factors in changing the structure of the country's energy system. Armenia is actively developing renewable energy, striving to increase energy independence and reduce reliance on traditional sources.
