Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan is on a working visit to the United States on January 13-14. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, noting that the trip is taking place as part of the intensification of bilateral dialogue between Yerevan and Washington.
The key point of the visit will be Mirzoyan's meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Negotiations are scheduled at the highest level and are expected to focus on the prospects for deepening cooperation between the two countries in a number of areas.
Following the meeting, the parties intend to issue a joint statement regarding the framework for the implementation of the TRIPP initiative. Official details have not yet been disclosed, but the very fact that a joint statement is being prepared indicates a transition to the practical phase of a new format of interaction between Armenia and the United States.
TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) is a major transport project agreed in August 2025 between Armenia, Azerbaijan and the United States, the goal of which is to create a new corridor for connecting mainland Azerbaijan with the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic through the territory of Armenia, including the construction of railways and highways, pipelines and fiber optic lines, which is aimed at unblocking regional communications.
